TPS adventure
I went looking for a new TPS the other day and found it rather entertaining. First I went to Advance auto they said they had it and gave it to me, it was the wrong one and it was the same application for all years of our trucks. So I call napa they said they didnt have it in stock. I called auto zone and the kid there told me it was not applicable. I asked him non applicable then how is it supposed to throttle up. He sais the cable attatched to my pedal open my carburator and squirts the fuel in there. I reminded him that it was diesel he said not to argue with him as he is a "ASE GAS AND DIESEL CERTIFIED MASTER MECHANIC" as per autozones ase program which I found out is basically a correspondance school. Made me laugh must have a hell of a grading curve there. Also there comptuer truly does say ther not applicable on all years of our trucks.

Actually all your parts stores are correct. Even though we call it a TPS its really a APP (accelerator Pedal Position) sensor. If you ask most parts stores for a TPS they will either tell you there is no such thing or give you a TPS for a IDI.
