had my truck serviced today, the guy doing it rotated my tires too. then he asked for the tpi reset tool that comes with the truck, mine din't come with one, according to the owners manual states theres supposed to be one with all equiped vihicles, has anyone else checked to see if they have one? the mechanic says the you have to reset the system so it will know where the tires are after you rotate them or if you get a low pressure in one of them it will show the wrong tire is low. goverment regulations at work.
I need to re-consult my owner's manual, but the way I remember reading it, there is a tool, but it was only on trucks equipped a certain way... not all models... i forget right now the specifics of what it says

you are correct, i called around and finally got a technition from where i bought it from and he told me that the TPI system will only tell you that you have a low tire, not which one and the only time i'd need to reset the system is if i put different sensors on it like getting different wheels or replacing a bad sensor. the type that has the reset tool is vehicles that have diffrent pressure setting for the front and the rear. so my question has been answered.
