E4OD and 1356 questions

Hello all,
new to this site, lots of good stuff. Anyway, I am building a 4x4 E350 van. It has a 1995 and has a 460 w/ an E4OD. I was planning on using a NP205 transfer case that I have from another project, but I would really like to avoid having a shifter sticking up between the seats. SO I thought about using a BW 1356 electric shift. But I have never actually seen one or how the hook up. Looking for any comments or information on hooking up one of these as well as what parts (in addition to the transfer case) I might need. thanks. Charlie.
PS: I would also be interested in any comments or experiences (particularly negative) on the 1356 electric shifter. thanks again.

E4OD and 1356 questions

I'm looking to do a retrofit of a 302EFI and E40D to a 79 Bronco. The Bronco has a NP205 T-case and would appear to be the the same setup you have, E4OD to NP205 that is. My question is will the tailhousing and output shaft mount to a NP205, and were can I get the tailhousing to do so? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

E4OD and 1356 questions

205 will bolt and fit just fine on e4od. Not sure if you could adapt the 1356 electronic shift parts to it or not, sounds kinda complicated.

Why not just use the 1356 it has a lower low range anyway

You'd be better off with a manual shift type. The 1356 is pretty strong. I wouldn't buy an electronic shift, just my luck it wont work when i need it. With a shifter, you know its going to into 4x4 w/o a problem.

Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Sunroof, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .

Check out my Gallery for a look-see.

Then theres:
99' Mustang GT 4.6L
88' F-250 Superduty 4x4 351/c6
95' Mercury Cougar 4.6L V-8
80' E-350 300/6 with a
3 spd column shifter. Top speed is 65mph, Go Baby Go!
