I live about 10 miles from the track! I hate race week, you can't find a place to eat out nowhere without waiting and all the tourist cause some serious traffic jams. but I guess thats a good reason to stay home and watch it. plus you can actually afford to watch the race from home!

Yesterday...On the way back to Charlotte from Carteret County. Eastbound 70 havelock to Raleigh....and I40....and south I85.....Smokeys everywhere....It was rainin' 'Bears'......They even had a 'Bear' in the air...!.....

Jeez! Every overpass had a smokey sitting up there with a handheld radar gun.......And they used the big SUVs as chase cars......Hard to tell what they were until you got right on them!
Dude.....I didn't go over 65....Even in the 70 zone. I just listened to some homemade CDs....Then caught Neil Boortz on 101.1FM from 10am to 1pm.....Pleasant ride....

Besides...I write speeding tickets....I don't want to be a hypocrite.....
I just roll down the windows....Turn up the tunes....Sip my coffee, and cruise, man.....It's pleasant....And everyone is passing you and fighting each other for space.....Let them get their BP up (and get speeding tickets).
Not too great. Weather sucked (too windy) and had two days couldn't even get the boat in the water. The over-nighter at Portsmouth was kinda disappointing....but got a few keepers. The weather was great then.....Good bait.....But no moon, and even the night fishing was a bust. Buncha blues...coupla sharks....a few flounder a little too small to keep....a nice black drum....a nice sheepshead.......Oh well...the bugs didn't 'bug' us too much.......
Sunday, though....We raked up a cooler full of clams near Broad Creek in Bogue Sound.
