i have some 3ton jack stands that i use on my wifes Yukon. Will these work for my F-250 4x4 cc, or are they borderline too light? i haven't been to any scales, but the weight is around 6200 lb from what i can find online...does that sound right?
if so will my 3 ton jack work as well or will it wear out quickly using it on my pick up?
it looks my next step would probably be bottle jacks if my current jack won't work, since they are more cost effective than the jacks.
what size stands/ramps do yall use?
i saw some poly ramps that claimed to support 12k but was leery (i guess b/c they look like plastic)
my drive is sloped so oil changes are a problem, and my 2x6 ramps i used to use are now wheel chocks for my boat.
3 ton jack stands are fine. A 3ton jack will also be fine. I blew out an old 2 ton jack trying to lift mine, and my backup cheapie 2 ton jack will lift it without a problem.
Your not lifting all that weight though when you jack up one axle at a time. Maybe with the jack under the front axle while lifting the front your lifting 4k pounds.
