I need to replace my front springs and mini spring pack so does anyone have any suggestions on where I can get a 2.5 in mini spring pack for the front end of my truck? I saw some on ebay a while back, are those any good?
As long as the mini springs aren't welded together and actually made of spring steel you're good. Many of the ones I saw on Ebay were welded... which basically turns them into a block. Since you're tearing into the front end pretty hardcore anyways, why not just get some new leaf springs to get the 2.5" lift? Pro Comp sells some that are supposed to be pretty good.
Thanks Chase, that info will help alot!
Ive already got some X code springs sitting in the garage so Im just going to use those.
You don't want X-codes man! They are horrible! But don't worry, send them to me, I'll pay the shipping cost and see to it that they are properly disposed of
I don't know for sure, but I believe they have 3 leafs instead of 2 and they might have something stamped on them. I'd bet if you send Ed your VIN he could tell you if you have them.
Just a heavier spring for snowplows basically, Im going with them so it takes longer for them to sag again.

They have 2, well the ones I have have two springs if Im not mistaken, Ill check when I get home.
I have this guys kit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-04...Q5fAccessories It says 2.7" but unless he's changed it, it is only a 2" lift. it consists of (4) 1/2" thick plates. They are not welded together, but I don't see how being welded would make any difference. This type of mini spring pack functions as a block basically no matter what. There IS NO WAY these plates will flex. They are way too short. they act like a block, but are bolted together to the stock springs. Below is a picture of mine mounted below the stock 2 leafs. You will be hard pressed to convince me that these plates actually flex.
The ride quality remains the same, and shocks are re-used. It was cheap enough, but I wish I had gone with either the entire spring assembly leveling kit, or held out for the full 4 or 6 inch lift. I am happy with it, but need to replace my shocks, and since these use stock length ones, I can't get the bilsteins in the zinc with black boots. Unless they have come out with a stock length shock that i'm unaware of.
