What would 12.3 mpg be considered with my truck carrying a 8 ft. self contained high sided camper, with truck & camper weighing in approx 11, 800 lbs. or so? I just finished a forty-two hundred mile round trip and that 12.3 was my best. My worst 9.4 mpg was climbing to 11,013 ft. across Colorodo. Most of the trip from Oregon to Texas and back was climbing some mountain or another and almost constant thirty to forty mile winds.
Should I have done better or is what I got expected for the circumstance? Thanks for your input. From the talk I heard I was hoping for better. Maybe 14 mpg but it was not to be. I have a 38 gallon tank.
i cant get any better than 13mpg but usually i get 10mpg whats up with that ? i dont drive with my foot in the pedal anymore either
Your not meaning that milage empty are you! all things being equal that doesn't sound right. I haven't figured mine traveling empty or unloaded so have no comparison there. Maybe some of the guys will have some tips on what you might look for. I was dissapointed loaded so that would really do me in empty.
