Question re: 2006 Ford Explorer XLT 4X4
I purchased this vehicle about a month ago after 2 Ford Escape XLT 4X4s. I absolutely LOVE this truck. My question is, when do I need to replace the timing belt? I have 59K and change miles on it, but when I just replaced all 4 tires the tech thought I was good til 90K. I couldn't find anything in the owners manual. Can someone let me know? Thanks alot!
PS - Replaced my Continental Conti-Tracks (which I despise!) with Yokohama Geolanders. So far it's a VAST improvement !!!

Explorers don't have timing belts, they have chains. I'm not aware of any recommended change intervals for timing chains, but perhaps someone will jump in with some first hand experience. I'm not sure which motor you have, but providing it's a non-interernce motor, I wouldn't worry about it.
