External slave cylinder

I have a 1990 F-350 with a 4 speed. The problem is that when it is warm and I try to put it in reverse it grinds, but if I give the clutch pedal an extra hard push it gos into gear fine. The idea I have is that the clutch isn't disengaging all the way. The slave cylinder has a small leak where the line is connected. I disconnected the line to try and bleed the system and ever since then I have a small leak. Is it possible for the cylinder to not be coming out all the way. It worked fine before I worked on it. I know for a fact that I have all the air out of the line. I need to get this fixed, I need to pull my camper on vacation on Monday. My back is against wall on this one. I need some help.

Thank much

Ken

try using the bleed screw on top of the slave cylinder. Its a small allen wrench plug next to the line. By removing the line you are just letting more air in. Also on the line, there is a small o-ring. Replace that to see if it stops your leak. Bleed the cylinder til you get a full stroke on your pedal. This may take 5 times and 2 minutes or 5 hours! They can be pesky!
