I have just acquired a set of front turn signal light assemblies for my 72' F100. The problem is, the drivers side turn signal assembly is rusted out pretty bad and is in need of much rebuilding. I am in process and have hit a small wall. Where can I get a replacement light socket at. All the ones that I have seen are for larger diameter holes, mine is only 3/4". I had to take the entire socket out, not just the insides. Is there a socket that will work in these turn signals. I am searched high and low with out any success. Could some one help me in the right direction please?
I was trying to avoid that. If I can rebuild it for next to nothing it is better than shelling out $70 for a new one. If I have to then I willbut if I can avoid it I will be much happier.

The bulb sockets are swagged into the parklamp body, so are not replaceable.
Ford did not sell the metal body only for these trucks, only the lenses were available separatly.
Otherwise, the whole assembly (including the lenses) was the only way the lamps were available.
The following are Made in the USA NOS (New Old Stock) Gen-U-Ine Ford Parts:
one of mine rusted out a few years ago. i just pulled the old one out with needle nose, bought a $4 socket that would fit in the hole. cleaned really well and used caulk to hold it in. it was a tight fit but is still rock solid today.

That is kind of what I am doing. I am going to repaint the inside of the light gloss white. I figured that the gloss white will reflect the light pretty close to the stock mirror finish. Hopefully close enough that you would not know the difference unless I told you.

Sounds good enough to me.
The newer plastic housings use gloss white plastic.
Exactly what Numberdummy said above. Sorry about the confusion.
My reference was to the white glossy paint you are using as reflective material being comparable to what ford did in the near future for the 1974 and later.
Not the 1970-1972 housings themselves, those are metal.
But the way it sounds I may be able to paint it white and get possibly what I am after, provided I can get a socket that would fit or be modified to fit.
