I like mine,it has a deep throaty sound..I don't do any real offroading or mudding in my truck so I don't worry about not having an enclosed filter.I prefer open filters.

Do you think it was worth the money? Any increase in mileage or performance?

I only gained about 1mpg,that's if I keep my foot out of it. It does help with throttle response but you won't see any major gains in performance. It was worth the $260 I paid for mine because it sounds cool and looks cool.
If you want performance gains I'd suggest you get a programmer.

Where did you get yours at? I have found the price being 336.00. I know you won't get much increase with the intake, but don't want to mess with screwing up my warranty through Ford with the programmer.

I have a Volant. And other than that 4bbl sound when you get on it, i really see no difference.

BTW: If you get a programer. Set your computer back to stock when you take it to ford and they will not know the difference.

I went from a Volant CAI (see pic below)...to the Roush CAI with my Blower.

I was not happy with the change. IMO, the Volant was of better quality, and the design was better.

Now, if you get the Roush Enclosed box, that is a pretty good setup.

Roush CAI + Roush Blower (almost identical to what Nassty posted)

Hey so ford advertise the 3 valve and how well it breathes so i was thinking fords new slogan "breatheability" now if i were to put on an intake, it would only help my ford breathe right?, hence i do a lot of towing so it would be great in the long run yes/no difference?5.4

I got my CAI about 2.5 years ago from one of the ebay sellers that now sells them for $300+ .

I paid ~$300 for mine a couple of years ago. All I ever noticed was more noise (the "throaty" sound) under the hood. No particular performance improvements noticed, but of course I do not have a programmer or my planned Magnaflow exhaust either. I had to replace it with the factory breather once for the dealer to be able to analyze a problem. They said the Rousch created too much air flow for their equipment to function properly. Anyway, after that I never did get around to changing it back, 1-1/2 years later.

If I had to do it again, I believe I would purchase the Volant.
