Yeah its a build sheet I found it under the seat of a 76 explorer I bought a week or two ago. The guy I got it from said he didnt have any of its paper work but knew it had been restored in the early 90s. I went to clean her up and there it was under the seat. Is there any way to decode these things? Ive looked everywhere and cant find any info on these punch cards except that ford used them up until around 79. Anybody know anything to help?
you can try your local ford dealers parts dept. Just go in the evening when they aren't quite so busy. They might be more willing to work you then. And if they can't help They should be able to steer you in the right direction.
Yeah just love those good smart a** comments just askin for a little help and by the way according to my local dealership its a production punch card it tells all of the things the build sheet does such as color engine package so on just in case u wanted to know since u obviously dont

I dunno, I kinda liked it before TigerDan edited it, at least you knew where he stood, and you knew he was good at making friends, and influencing people. Not to mention he was NOT coming back!

Your VIN, and the tag that the VIN is on will tell you everything about your truck. That little punch card is pointless, chad and FMC know their *****
The VIN will not tell you everything. F15 just means F150, not what trim or options on the truck. The vin will tell you model, engine, build plant and sequence number.
The door tag will offer more info, but not all options either.
The punch card has the same info as a build sheet, just takes more to decipher.
You guys need to lighten up on the newbees!!!! We were all new here once and didn't like smart *** answers then and I do not care for or will tolerate them now.
