Power steering

I replaced a leaking pressure hose on the top of my power steering pump but now I get noise as I turn and my brake pedal talks to me. Do I need to bite the bullet and replace the PS pump?

Welcome to FTE.

What did you put in the pump for fluid? I hope you know that the pump takes ATF, not powersteering fluid.

DOH. I'm thinking I need to flush and use ATF

How low did the pump get on fluid? Air in the fluid (foaming) will cause that noise, too. It has to work its way out. Did the noise decrease after sitting for awhile?

Mercon in ..and still noisy. Pump?

You can try to bleed some air;

Jack up the front wheels,turn lock to lock a few times.(engine running at idle).

Also check the hose between the PS pump and the brake master cylinder.. Mine had a slight hole in it once and the brakes and the steering didn't work all that well and I have noise coming from everywhere !
