I wouldn't change a thing on this truck that gets 22MPG!!!.
You can regear to run the same or close rpm @ a given mpg, but you will not see your 22 mpg again with this change.
--you are increasing your frontal area. Wider tires, and the truck sits higher on them, you are going to change your "angle of attack" into the air, and your lift will expose more truck to the wind as well.
--the wider tire will have more rolling resistance.
--the tires will weigh more, requireing more energy to make them move and stop.
If you are lucky after all this, you may see 18 mpg.
10:4 ya that is at highway speed sometimes 23 in tha city 19.5
tha truck aint stock im not to worried about power i have some to spare
thanks for tha input how bad would a 4.10 and 30's hurt but running tha same width tire
I typically drive at 65mph at about 1800rpm i live in FL and do alot of highway driving

4.10 and 31 inch tire will give you 2150 RPM @ 60MPH in overdrive. Lose about 1 MPG or more.
Dont mess with the "Wonder Truck"-dont change anything!! 19.5 MPG in the City??
I assumed because you wanted 31s it was a 4x4, even for a 4x2 thats incredible mpg. 4.10s and 31s will still knock that mpg down at least 2 to 3 mpg, most 31 x10.50s have much greater rolling resistance than 235 x 75 15s and 4.10s will have your rpms higher. Things like this will add up and kill those great mpgs, unless it does not matter to you about gas $$$.........I would leave it alone.
Yeah-dont change a thing on this truck. Just give it a wax job-and check the PSI on your 235s and try giving it higher octane gas.
The 302 has a knock sensor and my 302 gets better MPG with higher octane. The better gas allows more spark advance-especially in high mileage (more than 100k) engines.
As for going 4:10's On my 94 lightning i am running 4:10's and 275/55/18(29.8") and the absolute most i can get is 16mpg. O and i am approx 4" lower than a Standard f150
lol no i dont think ill break 30 im alawys trian to find ways to improve it though without hurtin pullin capability or to much power
but ya she gits a full manicure every 2 weeks and complete inspection and tune up every couple months but shes never seen anyhin but 93 octane fuel
there is 205k miles on her owned it 1996
thanksfor tha info bout liftin it i dont thank im goin to do it
