I plan to tow my Bronco II on a dolly with the back wheels on the ground .. do I need to disconnect the drive line as to not ruin my A4LD tranny? Thanks any info is appreciated I am going to our propperty for a it's about 150+ miles.
What year BII, is it 2 or 4WD? 2WD, definitely remove the driveshaft. I know 5-speed 4WDs with a manual shift t-case can be towed without removing the rear shaft. I would venture to say it would not matter if it's 2 or 4WD and that you should remove the rear shaft to flat tow or tow with a dolly with rear wheels on the ground with the automatic, regardless of electric-shift or manual-shift t-case, so you don't damage the transmission.
Disconnect the drive shaft, mark it before you do. If you are using a tow dolly you can tie it up. Tie it up with cable, but, secure the end through the bolt holes with good 1/4" rope.
