I Need help identifying these mirrors!

I bought some telescoping power tow mirrors on ebay a couple years ago. I bought them to change out the mirrors on my '95 E250, but they don't fit. They are too big. They are in unused and mint condition. The only problem is I can't sell them because I can't accurately identify which vehicle they fit. All I know is they won't fit a '95 E250 and now recently found that they will not fit an '01 F350. Here are the serial numbers, etc.:

SKU/Serial # 6C24-17682-CB5YGY or 1446582
# 6C24-17683-CB5YGY or 1446583

You can look at them here: Ford Telescoping Tow Mirrors

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

After looking at the pic, they look like the optional 03 and up tow mirrors. I was looking for a set to replace the regular stock mirrors on my 02 but I think they went to 4 stud mounts in 03 (when they changed the mirror design) compared to the 3 stud mounts used in 92-02.

If the mounting is the reason they won't fit I do remember reading somewhere that the fourth stud hole can be drilled in the door and the other three still line up. Can't verify that though.

Thank you for the quick reply..

That's a good start... and much further than I've been with the previous info.

Can anyone verify this by matching the numbers with the '03 numbers, etc.?

Size of the mirror aside, do they look like the right size to mount to the van door?

Not exactly. The mounts will match up (when holes are drilled), but the black plastic mounting bracket is too large and overlaps the window and the door frame.

That's no good. Maybe ford also changed the door in some way or they are not the van mirrors.... That I don't know. Can they maybe be trimmed to look decent? I mean, if you still need them.

The description I gave you is specifically for the '95 E250. I don't know how they would line up on the '01 F350. I had a guy come by this morning. When he saw them, his first response was that they had 4 mounting bolts... not 3. We held one up to the stock mirror still mounted on the truck and my mirror bracket seemed a little taller and thinner. Everything else seemed to match up ok, but it still would have overlapped the frame of the door a little.

That's a good one then. I haven't seen another vehicle with that type of mirror except maybe the Excursion? But I thought those shared the f series parts. If you get this figured out I would sure like to know. As said before, I have been looking at the later van tow mirrors and was considering the upgrade if the van doors have remained the same except for the fourth hole (that's no problem).

Good luck.
