42-47 fords?

42-47 fords?
After looking at a few of the trucks here I've come to realize that from 42-47 the body style does not change? I've searched for some ford trucks that were like mine so I always thought that I had a 42 haha. What location would I look for a vin#?

VIN will be on top of DS frame rale between cab and steering box. Post what you have and Gary or others can Id year and weight. You may have to scrape crud away to see it stamped onto the frame.

Yes, the trucks are nearly identical from 42 to 47. The '42 through '44 did use a slightly different hood in that the hood has a chrome Ford script on the side instead of being stamped in the side. Places to look for the VIN would be the rating plate bolted to the inside of the glovebox or the driver's side frame rail on top, right around steering box. It's lightly stamped, so you may have to clean the area well. The number will start with an * and end with an *

thanks guys! I do know that on my hood the ford logo is stamped. I recently got the truck back about 8-10yrs of having sold it, from what I could remember of it I thought I had a 41 but when I got it back I knew it wasnt cause of the style of grill so I searched for a 42 on the net and then there it was, so I took it for granted it was a 42 lol.
