This morning for the first time I noticed a strong burning electrical smell when I first started my truck. The smell goes away shortly after startup. If I turn off then re-start I do not notice it again. It only appears to happen when the truck has sat for a few hours.
Has anyone heard of this...any suggestions on where to start looking???
Well, when it does it again open the hood and "SNIFF AROUND" ya might get lucky. While your under there you might also check the connectors to the UCV gaskets then do an Ohm check of the GP pins.
QUICK GET OUT YOUR TRUCK IS ON FIRE! Just kidding. Assuming its only when the truck is cold and takes alittle more cranking to start it and it goes away smell around the starter after you start it, the selenoid might be dying and you smell it burning up, it would be more prevalant when the engine is cold because it would take more to get it started than when it warmed up, Just a suggestion.
