So the third row seat folds flat and tumbles forward, is there a latch or lock mechanism that holds it in that 'tumbled' position? I looked but maybe I missed something. Thanks.
like Chazman said....if I don't take the 5 minutes to remove the seat cuz I'll need it when I get "there",
I just use a bungie cord from the flipped up third seat to the headrest on the 2nd seat...
has worked well for 3 Ex's and 7 years
I have quad seating so the setup is a little different - but the response is pretty much the same. When I flip down the back of the 3rd seat, it "locks" itself in downward position until you flip the lever on the passenger side. Then, you can raise the whole thing (top and bottom sections) up towards your second row. From there, I just hook a tow strap from the rear bar around a 2nd row headrest. If you've removed those, you could secure it to the bottom floor mount instead.
oh completly misread that one, my bad. although whenever i have to flip it foward the stuff i put behind it usually holds it up, so i never really paid any attention to it.

Exactly!
Yes normally what ever you put back there hold the seat forward but I'd rather leave it forward until needed. I think a 4" wide ratchet strap from a truck stop wrapped around both seats twice should get the job done .
