Dang just seen the post down below this one.. ooops sorry.. but anymore recommendation will be greatly appreciated.
I went to Auto-zone and got Gabriel shocks pretty cheap for my '98 front end about two years ago. The're nice. so is the price; i think they were like $40.00 for one.
Nice to see people using shocks that dont consist of bright red boots and bright white bodies. They would be nice on a red truck though.
Are shocks measured by resistance so if you wanted a softer ride you would get them with little resistance, and so on for a stiff ride.
Really easy to change. It helps if you spray some WD40 or PB Blaster on the bolts and wait a little before you try and loosen them. Basically a bolt/nut on each end.
best price is at PST (performance suspension technologies)
If you want a more performance ride go with the gas-a-just, if you want something closer to edelbrock adjustibles, go with the GR2's.
In general, they are about 10-15% stiffer than oem but have a very aggressive valving, much better than monroe, not quite that of Bilstein, but about 1/2 the price. Lifetime warranty- and in 20 years I have never had one fail. I cannot say that about Monroe!
