motor swap compatibility

I have a 1995 4x4 f150 with a bad 302 and the e40d tranny. I have the option of getting a nice 1996 351 from a f150 or a 302 HO from a 1994 mustang gt for around 200 each. i am wondering what do I need to get to convert either of these motors to work with my tranny?

for the 302 ho youll just need the flexplate off the 302 that came out of your truck to connect it to the trans, the 351 will need a 351-e40d specific flexplate which can be had for about 100$ tops.

there are other things necessary to make these swaps but thats all youll need to physically connect it to the trans.

You have everthing you need to swap to the HO. Just use the truck oil pan . water pump . timing cover . dist . Intake. Is your truck mass air ?? Im not sure about the 351 ..The exhaust is different & you will need a intake if it dosnt have one . Lew
