I just seen on ebay a xenon HID conversion kit for the F-150. I was thinking about installing it. Anyone try this kit, would it over heat the factory harness, any thoughts are welcome.
A lot of guys have done the conversion over on another forum. A lot of them, including me, went with ddm tuning because they have a lifetime warranty on the bulbs. A couple guys said they tried the stuff on ebay and had bad luck with them. I haven't had a problem with the harness overheating. If you convert the fog lights, make sure to go with a 35w because you will probably melt the housing/lens with the 55w.
If you do the conversion, your lights will no longer be legal. And try to lower your lights a bit so you dont blind people.
Which is why i'm wondering about the led bulbs ....they fit right in place but were brighter and whiter than the stock bulbs....
The only direct replacements I've seen if for interior accessory lights...but it wouldn't surprise me if someone had headlamp replacements on the market.
Can't go wrong with a thorough ebay search for "LED Headlamps"
I purchased these like 5 minutes ago and they are SUPER AWESOMELY BRIGHT and it is full unclouded daylight outside! I got an extra 4mpg and looks like 1/8 of inch of extra tread life after installing them. Highly recommend these to EVERYONE.
Only thing I want to do with my headlights is black them out but to much of a chicken to stick fully functional lens assemblies in the oven and to cheap to buy aftermarket lens assemblies. I did put the upgraded daystars in my 98 and noticed barely anything because my lens where so cloudy. Need to get off my butt and setup a craiglist ad for that poor thing.
