Duramax Start up
Some one told me that the new duramax engines do not require the glow plugs to be heated before a cold start. Just turn the key and go. Is this true or am I getting a line of ****.

Pretty much all the new diesels are getting close to this. If the temps are warm my buddies 09 glow plug light doesn't even flash in the morning. Are the LMM's running strictly just a grid heater or do they still have glow plugs?

i think its the lower compression that causes this. even when it hits under 10 degrees around here my new jettas glow plug light comes on for maybe 5 seconds. Whereas the ol PSD seems like it takes forever to go off and then its lucky to start on the first try lol
