Appreciate everyon'es opinions. that truk was sold, but I decided to wait until I find EXACTLY what I'm looking for....a 92-94 IDI Turbo or a '97 PSD (only computerized diesel I'd ever buy). But yeah, looking around and it seems like more are popping up every day. I'll let ya guys know when I find one.
Oh, ok, I was hoping you were going to tell me there was something special about them, cuz at the ranch I work for, there are 4 95-97 PSD, and the 97 seems to have the most power, but it has over 350K on it and burns quite a bit of oil, but the turbo on it seems to be able to spool quicker and harder than the other 3
Yeah, it's not like the 94's-96's are bad, its just that the late 94 and early 95 had their fair share of problems because the technology of computerized engines was still pretty new.
In my opinion I wouldn't waste my time on the PowerStroke.
My '97 has been very reliable but it is slow on spool up and low end grunt. It's supposed to have 225 HP but my IDI turbo is MUCH quicker.
The P.S. runs fine it just disappoints on the power side.
It doesn't have anything on my 160 HP Cummins and gets quite a bit worse fuel mileage.
For me it's no contest between the trucks you're looking for...... IDI TURBO!!!!!!!!!!!
Plus if you aren't a hard-core Ford guy SOME of the guys on the PowerStroke site can get kind of obnoxious. These guys on the IDI site are a lot more realistic, and helpful too.
man i know how you feel not sure what you got, but i havent been to school in 2 days, if i aint puking and running a fever, then i coughing my head off and i have a head ache, slowly getting better, man i hate beign sick
I live in Fl. and have the same symptoms...could this really be the aPORKalypse, if I start rooting in the garden do I have swine flu?
I'm old and remember everything Dave does except that sad day in Dallas.
My '92 F250 has 355k and still goes when I want her too. Just put in some time and these trucks just won't quit.
if only i were 17 again and knew then what i know now we can only dream dave welcome to the forum smokin&stroken i got a 94 IDI Turbo payed 2500 dave i got your glasses ill return them when im done typing (hard to type with one hand (the other is holding the magnifying glass)LOL and my IDI is all stock

hopefully we can put that all behind us and start over
If I can get over someones handle bein Dodge on a Ford website, I mean come on its like having a picture of your ex-wife in your current wife's bedroom, somethings just not kosher bout that, I can get over a few harmless internet words.

I take it all back; you guys are butt-heads too!
LOL!
It's obvious the PowerStyroke guys are threatened by the MOPAR. Think about it; if some guy that's 5' nothin', 300 lbs., has a weasel face and smells like B.O. comes up to you and says he's gonna hit on your girlfriend/wife you just laugh it off.
Now if he's 6'2", looks like he was craved out of stone and just fell out of an underwear ad........ you're gonna panic.
Nah, we aren't. We just make fun of you, the real butt-heads are the ones who gang up on you, bash you because they are bashing D**** (sorry I don't want people to think I am cussing, they're might be little kids surfin the net) non stop and are afraid to admit that the Cummins is a dang good motor.
We just find it odd that your handle is Dodge/Cummins on a Ford Powerstroke site. I mean it would be like me havin Semperfi/gunny as a handle on an Army Ranger website.
