Well gents, I got the gauges in. I didn't bother painting the pod right now, so its just black with my gray interior. It's functional, not fashionable at this point. Anyways, so after my issues of trying to find the right electrical components, I finally got them in. Pyrometer works, boost gauge works, but...the Six-Gun tuner does not. For some reason its not getting power. It is daisy chained with my pyrometer power so I know its not the source. I double checked all of the connections, and nothing. Needless to say I'm disappointed.
Does anybody know anybody who is selling a used DP F-5? I'd rather not shell out the big bucks and buy one brand new if its avoidable. If anybody can help I would really really appreciate it
Well Chris, i,m glad you got them hooked up. Your not far from me, maybe we could meet and I could take a look and see what the problem is with your programmer..
Yeah, that could be arranged. However, I'm not sure if its the angel or the devil on my shoulder, but one of them is telling me to just buy the DP Tuner...
Sounds good. PM me when you are available, see if we can't work something out.
BTW, if anybody has any leads on a used DP let me know. I feel that my impulsive buying might get ahold of me and I will end up buying one brand spankin' new.
Hey Chris, Clay at Riffraff perfomance might be able to help you out, he might have that DP Tuner special, give him a call. I'll PM yaa when I get some time...
I don't see many used DP Tuners for sale here, but I see lots of them elsewhere at those "other" PSD sites. You might dig around on a few of them and see what you can find. I'd sell you mine if I had the $ to upgrade to the F6
My Six-Gun works (still want the DP!!!) For some reason unknown to me at the time, it only works when the headlights are on. this confuses me because even if I mixed up the wires, all the lighting are tapped into the same wire. My gauge lights come on when I turn any lights on, Six-Gun only works when the headlights are on. Any ideas?
Also, my pyrometer doesn't seem to be working now. I took it out for about 5 minutes earlier today and it went up to about 150 deg. F. Now it is not going above 100 deg. F. What is going on here?

Take a meter and check for power at the connection. I'm not familure with the Banks but make sure that there is power at the connection point both hot and ground. If they are screw terminals make sure that the screw is against the copper and not the insulation. I had a helper forget to strip a wire then terminated it. Even not stripped enough will do this.
Yes, that is the unit I have, but I have Autometer gauges. I'm not using the Six-Gun as a pyrometer. The EGT probe is optional on the Six-Gun, and IIRC mine does not have that option. I have no extra wiring but it is throwing one of the EGT codes on the module. My pyrometer and tuner are not even connected to each other except for power. This has me stumped, but then again I am by no means an expert at electrical stuff...
