What am I looking at needing to replace my C6 with an E4OD trans? Is this a viable swap idea? What are the ratios of the E4OD trans? Thank you for any info.
What year make & model is your ford and what rear end ratio do you have?
The E4OD is an computer controlled tranny with overdrive which makes it good for tire sizes from 31" to 35" with stock gears of 3.55 through 4.10 anything in those ranges will appreciate the new transmission.
I dont know the ratios of its gears, but I am happy with its shift points and ratios, however I do have modifications to make it more heavy duty and longer lasting though.
You need to buy a late model E4OD (1996-97) or upgrade all the Ford fixes for an older one to make it last. A late model low mileage E4OD can be had for $1200-$1500. You need to buy a computor to run the tranny from www.baumannengineering.com for around $450. Lastly you'll need to have your driveline shortened and re-balanced...add another $125-$175.
I figure if you can do the install yourself you should get it all done for around $2000. Good luck, Deen
