I have a 89 F250 4x4 with 4.9L Inline Six. It is a 5 speed.
The serpentine belt came off driving home the other day. It didn't hurt the belt. I've never heard of this happening. Does anyone have a diagram showing how the belt threads?
The owners manual has nothing. There isn't any diagram under hood either.
I had an 87 that would pop the serp every now and then. If you have a Haynes the diagram will be in there or you could hit a jy and either find one intact or with the sticker under the hood. The tensioner tool makes things easy or you can just use a piece of pipe/etc to swing it out of the way.
