another C6 rebuild question -- Front Pump Bushing
Hi again all and thanks for the help I have gotten here. I am at the end of my rebuild project or you coould say the front of it.Here is my question. Want to replace the Front Pump Bushing. The Ford manual talks about the "half moon slot" and making sure it is aligned with the "Oil Orface near the Seal Bore." Okay, I see all that.Problem is the one coming out is presses in just the opposite way. The "half moon slot" is on the side withe the pump gears and of course on that bushing the lube slot does not cross the full bushing so nothing is aligned with the "oil orface near the seal bore.Further more the old bush was stacked in place in two small spots; I presume to make sure it does not twist in the bore.I can understand that it would get lube pressure from the pump if the slot is in the right place.I am wondering if this is just someones idea or if there was a TSB to do it this way? Anyone know? Thanks much.
