'76 rear bumper brackets plans needed

I am changing the rear bumper on my '76 F-150 Explorer from a step n' tow to the normal chrome bumper but I need the brackets. I would like a picture or plans with dimensions if possible so can make them. Maybe something out of the parts book?
Thanks,
Dan

That looks good. I bet a few of those could be sold to other FTE members......(me).

Thanks for getting my photo up. how did you do it? every time I tried it said "failed". The brackets are made from scrap steel that I just couldn't throw away. just tried and got <table class="tborder" width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="1"><tbody><tr><td class="thead">Upload Errors</td> </tr> <!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: newattachment_errormessage --> <tr valign="top"> <td class="alt1"> May 039.jpg:

</td> </tr> <!-- END TEMPLATE: newattachment_errormessage --><!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: newattachment_errormessage --> <tr valign="top"> <td class="alt1"> May 040.jpg:

</td> </tr> <!-- END TEMPLATE: newattachment_errormessage --><!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: newattachment_errormessage --> <tr valign="top"> <td class="alt1"> May 041.jpg:

Good thing for scrap metal. It was put to good use that's for sure. I wouldn't throw away those plans either. More and more people who see this thread may be interested on how you made them or if you could make them again for someone. Bumper brackets can be hard to come by. Sure we all could get a universal bumper and universal brackets that we still have to modify, but a bracket to mount the stock bumper like what you did aren't made anymore and very hard to find, at least in my area.

I've typed this info several times before. I guess the search function isn't working...again. Or maybe y'all didn't bother using it.

In the previous posts, I listed all the Ford Dealers, obsolete parts vendors that had these brackets...as all are obsolete.

D3TZ17787C .. Right Inner Bracket // D3TZ17788C .. Left Inner Bracket

D3TZ17795B .. Right Outer Bracket // D3TZ17796B .. Left Outer Bracket

Fits: 1973/79 F100/150 Styleside

Fits: 1973/79 F250/350 with: 117" - 133" - 139" - 155" Wheelbases.

Fits: 1973/79 F350 with a 140" Wheelbase

ALL of the above without a step bumper.

All the plans are in my head, I just envisioned want I needed and built my vision. It would be easy to make more now that the first set is made. I made the two side arms that go to the outside top holes too. The fit of the bumper is tucked up very close to the body. What a weight savings over the ugly 80 lb step and tow. this setup is only 35 lbs and looks sooo much better. 45 lbs makes a big difference when it's hanging way back of the rear wheels. The Reese hitch does all the towing work. Pictures by smithwoods - Photobucket

Gee Bill did you just insult me "Or maybe y'all didn't bother using it." or are you always that way? I put the post up two weeks ago with no response until I said never mind I made them. BTW you do have excellent info and I thank you

I was not insulting anyone...just trying to make a point.

Consider that I have typed over 100 posts many times on the same subjects (examples: gas tank floats & sending units / FE flywheels / 1961/66 core supports).

It gets tiresome when this occurs....over and over again.

Consider how many people out of 500,000 + registered FTE members are taking the time to look up and search for all these parts.

I cannot be everywhere, there is just too much for one person to do...and what I do here is FREE. No one pays me a cent.

If you had P/M'd or emailed me, you would have had the info in less than five minutes.

btw: Yesterday, I spent over FIVE hours...just reading thru the subscribed threads I typed on Tuesday to answer all the posts!

btw, part II: Notice my post count, and my join date.

To say I am busy is an understatement. And...on any given week, I receive over 100 P/M's, emails and now those pesky Visitors Messages from peeps.

A buddy of mine, who's worked Ford parts for over 20 years, tried all of his contacts for these, with no luck. If the guys that carry obsolete had 'em at one time, they don't anymore.
