Adding leafs to front spring pack

I bought my truck in Oct. Had 115,000 on it. Front was sagging pretty good. One of the guys I work with put a lift on his 02 PSD just a month or so after he bought it new. I had helped him out with his other vehicles and wanted to repay the favor, So he GIVES me his basically brand new front springs, u-bolts for all 4 corners and sway-bar end links. I installed the springs yesterday. I know I should have done before and after pics. I forgot untill after I had it in the shop and part way done. It sits better, but was thinking about taking my old springs and cutting them down. Then bolting them to the new springs to give it more lift. Then probably have to get extra leafs for rear or go with F-350 blocks.

Anyone done this?

I understand if I leave them to long then it will ride rougher than it does now.

Hmmm I just remembered I have 2 springs per side off a older F-350. Might have all the parts to lift it a couple inches.

Don't wanna go to crazy, has gooseneck hitch in the bed and I do tow my sled trailer with it. I also already have a lifted truck anyways.

A guy I work with has done this very thing. He cut the eye lets off his old rear springs and just added them to the front. It gave him maybe a total of 4+ in lift in the front...BUT his truck rides like a wagon now....Just a thought in case you are thinking about it.

If you want to go with just a little more lift in the front, and keep the non-wagon ride, buy or make you some longer shackles for the front. The standard SD has 2 front leafs, I have 10, its a little harsher. I'm working on an on-board air system and air ride seats right now.

I understand it would stiffen the ride if I left the spings full length. Was looking at something like this F250 F350 LEVELING KITS. The top LH one. I don't plan to stack that many together. Anyone try something similar?
Ziggy if I build extended shackles won't that effect my aligment?

I have a fabtech leveling kit and F350 blocks in the rear of my F250 and it rides and looks great. On my last F250 I had the Donahoe Racing front leveling kit also a great kit. Spend a couple hundred and get a leveling kit. Fairly easy to install and retains the factory ride.

Sanderson Welding sells them on Ebay. I put them on mine, and have no issues with them at all. Several here have also installed them.

If you really want some good springs go with the ford "x" code snow plow springs, they are 3 leaf and level the truck right out. Handling and ride seem very good with them. Will cost probably 300 bucks.

i bought my truck and the guy before my made his own leveling kit adding 7 leafs to the factory 2. my truck beats the **** out of me and i go through shocks like crazy. im looking a lift for my truck. for a 6" lift for about $900 and it converts my 2000 f250 to coil over. anyone know if thats a good idea. as for right now i have 35" tires on factory rims. but i needed wheel spacers and i dont like that i have wheel spacers on there. so would converting the coil over be better than buying new rims?

*i want a 6" lift regardless of coil over or not*
