Trouble Re-starting
My truck has trouble re-starting after it has been driven 20+ minutes. If I try to restart it within 20-30 minutes after driving it sounds labored on starting - almost as if the starter doesn't have the umph to turn it over - but it does. I haven't started it within 5 minutes of shutting it off - like if I was to stop and get fuel.
The truck is an 89 Ford F-150 with a 351. 139,000 miles. Thanks

Sounds like the same trouble I had with my 93. I had to jump start it to drive it, but if I shut it off it wouldn't start nor could I jump it for at least an hour. I thought it was the altinator, It wasn't, I checked all the cables for errosoin. , it wasn't the problem. Checked the starter, nope not it. It was the battery, It had enough dead cells, that it wouldn't take a charge, or even light the dome light.

i have the same problem with my 88 truck, i would love to know what causes this. i have a new battery, rewired the whole truck, and have a heat shield on her starter. im lost
