i finally picked up a solid 66 f100 core support off ebay. or so i thought. it came in today while i was at work. i was all excited to open it up and get home and stuff. the previous owner had said on the ebay page that it only had light surface rust witch i thought was great ill just run it through a sandblaster and take it to line X. but when i opened it i found something a little different. the guy had taken pictures of all the light surface rust leaving out a spot on the lowwer front drivers end where it goes up into the headlight dish that is rusted/cracked through. it isnt noticeable on the other side so thats why i didnt see it in the pictures. so now i have to send it to get the metal repaired after sandblasting. ugh. payed $295 plus $100 shipping. and you know what the funny part is? gangstkr pm ed me the next morning after the auction offering me one for cheaper that was probably in better condtion. lol. lesson learned, dont rush the parts finding process.
thanks but its a little late now. i have to repair this one because the cost of buying another one would exceed the repair of this one im guessing. thank you tho
Hey customcab, I might be interetsed in that good 66 core support. Mine has a spot on it that isn't too bad and could probably be repaired, but might prefer one in better shape.
As noted, they have what is referred to as the 'resolution center', from a friend who went thru the process, some what of an exercise in futility. The steps and procedure is listed on ebay website. If decide to file complaint, suggest initial correspondance be as pleasant terms as possible explaining why you feel the conditon of the item is not as seller had described. Suggest take pic's of the item upon arrival, don't try and clean up for photo shoot. Also save all correspondance, try and be as civil in your commments as possible, may be required to share. Outcome may required seller to refund portion of the money once item has been returned. If you believe it can be repaired to your satisfaction, suggest get a quote and see if seller is willing to pay the cost, only as an option, if and when you feel appropriate. Purchased numerous items off ebay and found majority of the sellers are reputable and willing to resolve any problems, guess I have been fortunate. Anyhow, good luck.
