I've done some sandblasting on some body parts on my 82 F100. After the surface rust was removed it leaves the small little pits behind. No holes just tiny little pits free of rust. I just want to fill these small areas with a filler that won't allow it to rust again. I've used some stuff from bondo that had has fiberglass in it that seems to work really well, then use a skim coat of bondo filler after that. Is this a correct fix? Im really new to body work, just trying to fix the rust and keep it from coming back until I can get a real paint job on my truck in a few years. Thanks Fred

Personally, I would treat with a rust converter, spray with epoxy primer, and then apply the filler. Normally the only time I use a fiberglass based filler is when there is the chance moisture could get in from the backside of the repair (i.e a welded in patch where I didn't trust the weld to be watertight).

Thanks for the info Dennis. I see you post alot on the Paint and body work forum. Im still a rookie when it comes to body work, just trying to get rid of rust. Fred
