i have a 1995 7.3 turbo f250 and was wondering if i can turn my fuel pumps up to make it black smoke or will i have to get a chip? is een a video where a 92 7.3 they turned the fuel pump up and it smoked was wonderin if i could do this?
The 92 you are referring to is an IDI engine, a different animal from the PSD (your 95). The PSD has a HPOP that powers the injectors.
The IDI had an injection pump, the PSD doesn't. There are no pumps that you can turn up to make smoke. It takes bigger injectors and re-flashing the PCM.
PCM = Powertrain Control Module
IDI= InDirect Injection
PSD = Power stroke diesel is DI (Direct Injection)
HPOP = High Pressure Oil Pump
