4R70W Noises
Ok all you transmission gurus,heres a Q? for you;I have a 97 F150,4.2,4R70W trans,almost 77,000 miles.I do my periodic maint. on the fluid and filter.When i am coming to a stop sign or in slow traffic,the tranny makes a "thunk" noise on the 2-1 down shift between 15-20 mph.Sounds like the tranny pulling away from the motor..lol Anyone else out there have this problem or know what it is? Thanx,Wayne

hi sounds like anti clunk spring that is underneath low owc has anyone recently rebuilt unit?
they may have forgotten to install it

No,transmission is stock....no one has done anything to it,except for me servicing it.
