For my latest purchase, I looked at the P3 which has a way cooler readout, but the Prodigy is still the top unit, even though the P3 is supposed to be the top dog in the Tekonsha lineup.
Unlike the P3, the Prodigy supports 1-4 axles, and it works in both forward and reverse which can be important on rough terrain or tight quarters.
Nothing else I've found offers the diversity of application, the smoothness, nor the adjustability of the Prodigy.
I currently use it on a Superduty F350 4X4 Crew Cab that outweights most travel trailers, and have had it on a Chevy 3/4 ton extended cab that was lighter than most big trailers. It performed as advertized on both, so it's versatile.
Something telling about the Prodigy - it has a limited lifetime warranty, but they do so few of them that they forgot to put return instructions on thier website. I happened to get a brand new one with some sort of flaw in the sensors, so it kicked an error code. My dealer happily took it back and said it was only the 3rd of 4th to come back EVER.
Doubt it's quality? Look at how it's made: Cast metal and heavy plastic case. It has security torx bolts holding it together. Borderline milspec construction. Aircraft technology for sensors. Nobody else builds such a hardened OEM grade unit that I've found. (Not saying it's not out there....)
