looking to buy a 1992 ford f250 4x4 5 spd manual. it is turbo charged and it has 60,000 on a rebuild. he has all the paper work. are these good engines and what should i look for. i like fords. i have had several but not diesel. it also has a new clutch. i have not seen alot of upgrades for these engines. can anybody point me in the right direction for info on this engine?
I'd be interested in what was done on the rebuild relating to the cylinders. Do you know if it was sleeved when rebuilt? There has been some problems with premature failure on sleeved blocks.

If you're looking to be the first one there, the IDI is not for you... If you want to get there, then it is!
Not a whole lot of power adding options, It's already Turbo'd and thats pretty much the extent of real power adders, there are small things like cold air intakes, intercooling.
If the fuel is not already turned up, it can be turned up some.
If it's got head studs you can turn the boost up, allowing more fuel.
An EGT gauge is a MUST HAVE for turning up the pump or boost to keep from burning it up.
I would want it for the Turbo and 5spd if the price was right and close enough.
