Heater Core?

I was driving this morning and the cab of my truck filled up with steam, i was having problems with the windows fogging up and i looked at the passenger floor mat and it has some anti freeze on it, i guess you can smell it but i do not have a sense of smell so how hard is it to change, doesnt leak alot, btw truck is a 2000 F.250 5.4, 4x4 XLT with air, 152,000 trouble free miles-haha

Looks like it's doable without TOO much hassle:

1. Drain the radiator. For additional information, refer to «Section 303-03».

µ 2. Disconnect the heater water hoses from the heater core. For the heater hose coupling disconnect and connect procedure, refer to «Section 412-00».

3. Disengage the stops and lower the glove compartment door.

µ 4. CAUTION:
Do not attempt to bend any part of the panel/floor door lever. It is brittle and will break.

Remove the panel/floor door vacuum control motor.

1 Disconnect the vacuum line.

2 Remove the screws.

3 Rotate the vacuum control motor to disengage the lever and remove the vacuum control motor.

µ 5. Remove the electronic blend door actuator and bracket assembly.

1 Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the screws.

2 Rotate the blend door actuator and bracket assembly.

3 Remove the electronic blend door actuator and bracket assembly.

µ 6. Remove the screws.

µ 7. CAUTION:
The heater core cover must be raised vertically before removal to avoid damage to the heater core housing.

Remove the heater core cover.

1 Raise the heater core cover.

2 Remove the heater core cover.

µ 8. Remove the heater core.

9. CAUTION:
Position the temperature blend door manually to correctly align the actuator and the door. Do not power the actuator electrically. If it is not engaged with the temperature blend door, damage to the actuator can occur.

Note:
Add gasket between housing and cover before installing cover.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

If you don't have time or money to replace the heater core right now, and you can do without heat, simply undo the two hoses from the heater core at the firewall and hook them together. I live in Florida and have had to do that temporarily a few times. Who needs heat down here anyways.
