.............My truck is bare bones basic , auto with radio and no cruise control , I'd like too add this for trips , etc . I'm feeling Ford dealer would be out of my $$ , so am wondering if anyone has a handle on much this would cost ? , thanks , rb
since it is fairly new, there are several ways to go:
Yup get the ford install aftermarket kit from FORD parts (not service)
go online after you verify the ford part number. They aren't that hard to install and ford has great instructions. Online is generally cheaper and since it is factory equip, it bolts and looks like original. Ford also fixes their kit as part of the factory warranty, just don't tell them it wasn't there new.
find out who your stealership uses to install aftermarket and cut your own deal.
Buy a kit from whoever and DOITYOURSELF
I don't know prices anymore but figure about $125 for the DIY kit, and perhaps 250 from ford.
I have no idea how much a factory kit costs, but I put an Audiovox cruise kit on my 2000 and it cost me about $120. The instructions that come with it are pretty good, I got it installed in a few hours.
.............Thanks for the help friends . I'll probably check my dealer for prices and labor costs , which I already expect to be , Too high ! So , as soon as I know something I'll post back here , If I can find this thread . , rb
