If you have read my thread titled "died on road tonight" then you know my sorrow. In short, 3 bad injectors, but replacing them all while they are there. Also a bad IPR, or HPOP. I am having them do both again, since they already have access.
I attribute this to normal wear and tear since I have 130K on the odometer. I run the rotella syn 5w40 all year. I never have my WIF light come on. I use power service in the fuel. I change my oil every 5k and fuel filters every 15K or so. I do run an SCT X3 tuner. I don't hot rod my truck around like a teenager, but I do romp on it from time to time.
My question is this, how long are the injectors, hpop designed to last? Would you contribute these issues to wear and tear with as many miles I have, or could the sct have caused these problems?
my injectors have 311000kms on them i do 5k oilchanges but i change my fuel filters every 5k as well i run syn 5w40 in the winter and 15w40 in the summer i have never had an hpop problem ive changed one icp sensor i was kind of wondering what the life span of these injectors are since iva had my truck i have ran a predetor programmer, a bully dog dyno dominator (which destroyed my tranny) and now a hypertech which i love except i cant use stage three (tranny wont shift right ) so i dont think a tuner alone can crater these injectors but i could be wrong it seems strange to be blowing injectors at 130k but i guess that is the nature of these beasts
