Im gonna clean it really good and give it a good waxing/buffing and see what happens. I hope to keep the original paint job for a while longer if I can keep it inside out of the weather or atleast cover it up. If I ever do re-paint ill go back with the factory colors.

Heres a pic of the bone stock 302. All orginal wiring also, havent found any hacked wires yet, and everything works.

Another WOW! That's a time capsule. Just buff and clean it if you can. New hoses and seals is all I'ld wanna do to your truck.

Your heads are blue through the grime! I bet that cleans up real nice. Try to keep it as original as possible. Even if it isn't perfect.

Yeah I only plan on replacing things that need replacing. The yellow sticker on the driverside valve cover is in perfect condition. The sticker on the passenger side is to, I just havent cleaned it off yet.

The guy I bought it from is 90 years old and he still loves the ole Fords, he just bought a 2009 F150. 30yrs from now if his family takes care of it his new F150 will be a great classic to.

It was a ole farm truck, but it hasent ever been in mud. Since 1987 to present day its only had a little over a thousand miles put on it. Oh this is the best part, the dash is not cracked or faded!

Im thinking about getting some chrome aftermarket wheels for it but keep the originals for later when I want them back on.

I have the new spark plug wires ordered they should be in tomorrow. Ill put them on and see how she runs then. Im gonna hang the original motorcrafts up in the garage.

Assu, ming that has the original carb, it should have these two PITA screws that adjust fuel mixture on the fron of the carb towards the bottom. I would start with them 1.5 turns out from stop and adjust it from there. The proper way to do it is with a vac gauge and you adjust each side the same amount until you reach the highest amount of vacuum. Also, I wasnt sure after reading your post if you replaced the power valve and accelerator pump diaphragm. They are prone to leak fuel into the engine making it run rich.

Yes I did change the power valve and accelerator pump diaphram. I noticed one of the idle mixture screws in slightly bent, I need to replace it to.

I think there's a little ball check valve in the accelerator pump curcuit. make sure it's still there.

I noticed there is crud built up in the egr spacer and the hole in the manifold for the egr, this cause any problems? How do I know the egr is still working right? I want to leave the egr on it.

Depending on the type of EGR, carbon can be cleaned out with a tiny wire brush and B12.

Oh, you'll know. It won't run worth a nut if the EGR is defective. Alternatively, you could apply vacuum to the diaphragm and wait till the engine starts running rough.

If it's the open type where the diaphragm is visible, it can be cleaned out. If it's a solid housing with no parts visible, it can't be cleaned.

You also can clean out the EGR passage in the manifold with a wire brush. I do this whenever I rebuild the carburetor.

OK messed with the F100 today. Put new spark plug wires on it, didnt help it none. It still has a pretty bad miss at idle and smokes from to much fuel. I tinkered with the carb some more but it didnt help. Ill try cleaning again, if it dont get it this time ill just get another one.

I couldnt ask for it to crank any better though. Its been sitting about a week and a half. I pumped it once and barely hit the key and it started right up.

Plugs, cap & rotor, and coil replaced yet? I know that a bad coil can cause that miss at idle, my truck has it but it's not that bad. Also whats your timing set at?
