The drivers side FE perch was redesigned to fit power steering in 73, was the same perch used for the 300 like before?
Was there a different 300 perch offered in 77 from 76?
I don't think it's that complicated.

The poster is asking about 4x4 frames which are no where even close to a two wheel drive frame...Front steer and no under engine cross member.
Ford did a redo in 77 of the highboys and the F100/150 4x4 frames, with them no longer offering the FE after 76 they may not have left the FE mount design in the frames like the 77 to 79 two wheel drive frames. The perches are not similar between the two.
The cross members under the 73-79 beds are different sizes to make it all work. Anyone that does this will have to have an elevated skill level and should be able to roll with the punches to pull it off.
Kudos to you.

I dropped the cab and bed back on the new frame yesterday. I had to lop the back of the frame off right behind the rear spring hangers, 65 bed must be shorter. This eliminated the last cross member.
Because of the width difference the rear of the frame no longer fits in the sockets in the bed so in order to get the least amount of body lift I have to redesign the last few inches of the frame, as well as build a new rear cross member. It looks like I am going to end up with about 1 inch of body lift, so that's not bad. I'll try to remember to take a pic after I redo the frame.
PS. I forgot to pick up stock at the welders friday so no engine mounts this weekend
I would weld some plates on the frame and use the existing holes in the bed rather than adding new exposed holes.

No can do, they made the rear of the bed wrap around the back of the frame with a support for the rear bed panel. So I made a new cross member out of 2x4 channel, and made 2- 5 1/2" long frame extensions to match the width of the old frame. I missed the pic before I dropped the bed back on, but I did get these 2. I'll get a better pic next time I pull the bed back off.
Looks like I ended up with a 1" body lift like I was shooting for.
