My 97 F150 will not shift into four wheel drive. When I turn the selector dash **** to 4h or 4L the correct dash light comes on, but wheels do not engage. My questions are: 1.Will the 4x4 dash lights work properly if the shift motor is stuck? From what I have read the 4x4 lights didn't if the motor was stuck. 2.Is a 94 and 97 shift motor the same, I have read how to clean 94 motor brushes on this sight.
I want to make sure I am on the right track before pulling shift motor.
any additional help will be greatly appreciated.
