BondoMerchant,

What a VERY Nice looking '65!
Glad to see you still get a little work out of the ol' Dude!
I haven't seen one of those old 'window rifle racks' in years! I used to have one in my '65 F-250 in '77-'78.

Can't say I've ever seen CB antennas mounted on either side of the hood like that. Is there a reason for that placement?

So what transmission do you have behind the 390?

What is that "seat belt buckle looking thingy" located midway down the crack between the cab and the box ?

How about sharing a pic of the interior and of the engine compartment?

Keep up the good work!

Welcome to ( FTE )!

Hey thats a real nice truck, and these old trucks sure can haul a Load !

My dad and I used to Haul loads that was Oak split and stack above the Cab , but

on my narrow bed truck, dad would tie that wood till it look like a spider web !

Good to see you still have it in use !

bondomerchant,

That's one sweet ride you have there! I'd be interested in seeing more pics of the gun rack, and how its mounted.

Thanks for the great pics,

John

I can tell ya, John.... as I had one just like it.

Mine simply had a metal screw at the top and at the bottom of the rack and was black non-marking, rubber-coated.

I recall hanging everything from a hat, to bungie cords, to a section of tie-down rope, and even had my .22 cal. rifle (in a soft-sided rifle case, unloaded) riding up there for a while back in the day. I didn't leave it there for long though, because I'm sure day in & day out travel would likely cause rub/wear on any rifle if left in the rack.

If anyone has seen one like that for sale somewhere, I'd like to find another one myself.
BarnieTrk

Bondo, nice truck and pics. Nice load of rounds on there. I was doing some firewood hauling with my CS and was amazed at what it would haul. You don't need 4wd with that much traction and a limited slip rear. Good to see someone who's not afraid to put these old things to the work they were built for. Must be nice to sled right from your yard like that. I think you have helped me over at autobody101, unless there is another bondomerchant out there.

BondoMerchant,

Ahhh, camper tiedowns...as I suspected, but I wanted to confirm my suspicions.

I suspect it's the T-18 4-speed with the granny 1st gear. Those babies are tough!

I really like the body color bed liner too.

Sure sounds like it has been a good truck for ya! That is a F250, correct?

--- We'll be here patiently waiting for you to clean it up a tad & give us more pictures!

Howdy y'all? You must be from SOUTHERN Washington :-)! Welcome from Louisiana. Nice looking truck. "Built Truck Tough" is more than just a marketing slogan.

Welcome aboard; now that's a true work horse. I never seen one with two interior door beer coolers; usually on driver side only. But I betcha its a cool option to have.

This rack was very common...once. I wouldn't use one today...even to hang my hat on.

Why?

Because it's an indicator someone has guns. You just don't know....who might follow you....to see where you live.

Unless you have a Sharps Old Reliable "Big 50" with a 36" barrel, most rifles will fit under the seat....hidden from prying eyes.
