99 e-350

Hey guys & gals,

I am going to be doing a trans service on a 99 E-350 ambulance...

What kind of fluid does it take?

How many quarts of said fluid?

Thanks so much,

Sarge

I believe it takes t5he same amount as the F250/350's do which according to the manual is 17.7 quarts (if my memory serves me). They have changed the formulation of Mercon V and it is now the recommended fluid for our trannies. They used to say not to use it, but it's okay now. A lot of us have switched over to synthetic tranny fluids and like the improved temperatures we see because of it. Some have used Mobil1 I personally switched to Schaeffers, but you have to find a rep and order it. You can get Mobil1 at most any Auto parts store like Autozone, etc.

Yup. Mercon ATF. Here's the instructions on how to flush it yourself. https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...nsmission.html

Thanks guys,

No flush,

Jasper just put a trans in it but the company that installed it went out of buisness and I am now the service guy for this particular agency. The pan gasket is leaking so how much fluid will the pan hold with a filter change. I am in the proces of saving for the heated flush machine.

Thanks for the help
