yup finally decided to paint the fifty 2 candy apple red pearl I think it will go nice with the wood box I seen the colour at powerama a car show here in Edmonton it looked great on this 57 nomad The interior is a toss up between light tan and dark charcoal grey The red will be accented with gold you know the fancy old school pinstripping Me and my painter decided at the car show now we are at the mock up stage and into final wet sanding I will have pics soon
Though some of the names drive me nuts, lol I think this one is the worst, cause candy apple makes people think it's a Kandy type paint (even though it's off the red candy apples) and pearl, well thats in clear coating, lol.
But yep, I'm going with a kandy candy apple as well, just no other red like it

hmm.. all the pearls I've seen are flecks in the base paint.. nothing in the clear.
mine is a candy green, metallic base + candy + clear. House of Color also has pearls, but the fleck was smaller than I wanted.
The stuff I'm thinking of is used after a the color is put down, but it's just pigment, could go in anything. If you put it on after, in the clear coat, it does some amazing things (another pure clear coat after). It's fairly translucent, like a watered down candy that only shows in highlights. Subtle, but makes a strong end effect.
sorry no paint chip yet first coat is gold then red over that then shadow clear then pearl in the remaining three clear coat then wetsand and 3 more clear coats maybe

Haven't had a chance to, was planning on using it over white on a rocker panel stripe for my car after I moved. For the price it's worth a shot to say the least. I think they can be so inexpensive because it's not in a clear already, but just a bag of pigment. Which is kinda nice as it allows better control and not having a bunch you didn't use.
I'm thinking of using a root beer colour and was wondering if something like this would make it stand out a little more, not sure of what colour pigment would be best.
Pearls and kandies ALWAYS stand out more. A picture does it no justice, there is a lot of depth and change to them. I honestly think once you paint anything with a candy or pearl, you just can't go back.
