Does anyone know if the bearings in the auto hub are sold on separately. I took my right front auto hub apart today and it was as dry as Madonna's.. umm the Sahara desert. A couple of the roller bearings were gone and some damage was done to the bearing housing. The gear the bearings sit on seemed fine no scoring and burning.

There's no bearings in the auto lock hub. You can supposedly get the needle bearings for the wheel hub separate and you could get a new aftermarket wheel hub but you can't replace those bearings in it. The auto hub doesn't need a lot of grease but clean it up good and add a little.
The http://www.guzzle7pt3.com/doc/allube.pdf bearings I am talking about can't be seen in this write up. I would hate to have to get a whole new autohub just for a set of bearings
Yes there's a bearing in auto lock hab.Check the ### on it and try on the net.
Yes you're right, I forgot about that one, and I even greased it when I was in there. Vodkaman needs to chime in and clarify which hub he is speaking of (wheel hub or locking hub). From what I understand, you can't buy parts for the auto hub and he has other hub issues but I'm wondering what the availability is like from the wrecking yards?
It was the autolock hub that I was talking about. I did find numbers on my bearing after some steel wool work. SCE 248. I will have to see if there is a local bearing shop and give them that number. TY for the idea on looking for the number on the bearing. The outside hub is caled the autolock hub correct?

Yes, it's the autolock hub or the ESOF (Electronic Shift On Fly) hub, or the outer locking hub. I hear you can't buy parts from Ford but I bet you can find one with the part # you have elseware. Then there is the junk yard.
Vodkaman ,I know that you're talking about autolock, link is only to show you that it is possible to get the bearings,Autolock or manual = same bearing.

They don't want these rebuilt because 8 out of 10 times they are done wrong. I had a $2000 bill after one of the bearings failed and took out the shaft. On my 05 F250 I ordered in new hubs & auto lockers and will put all new on. I know it's pricey but atleast I know it will last me a long time, (I hope).
Zbigbig it was not that i did not think your link was not good. I was asking because when I called to get the o ring kit the girl at the parts desk gave me the wrong part at first. I told her the O ring she gave me was to big that it must be for the main hub. I told her again what I needed the oring kit for then she got me the right part That is why I did not know if I was calling it by it's right name. Thanks guys for all the help.
Well after looking all over town and calling two bearing shops I ended up having to by them out of state. The place I bought them had a minimum order size of 6. So anyone who needs a set of bearings once I get them I will sell them at my cost. One question will it hurt anything to drive with the hub out for a week or so?

No. Mine is off right now because I am doing a test. It's been cleaned up and greased and I put a tight fitting sandwich bag over the hub housing and used 3 heavy duty rubber bands to hold it on, and then put the hub cap back on over it. Been like that for a week. Ever try the wrecking yard? You could probably get a whole good hub for less hassle and you would have spare parts.
