Talked to my neighbour and he loves the new truck! Says the power is descent, mileage is better than he thought, and the ride is awsome for a big truck. He has a toolbox in the back and still has room to put the quad in. I hope the truck is good to him like the Fords have been good to me!
Glad to hear that Calvin, makes my day.
Seems like most new trucks I see lately on construction job sites are Ford 150/250/350`s, very afew chebys and even fewer dodges..
Of course I doubt I`d ever even notice (if there were) any of the ''other'' brands around......
i've been noticing how many people, generally guys, who have left dodge or gm products for ford products simply because they haven't taken any huge handouts from the gov't to help them along. another huge reason is the availability of the 6.5ft box in a standard 1/2 ton with the crew cab. thats a huge selling feature for me also. not that i'd find myself in a different brand, but probably wouldn't have bought a new truck until i found something with the proper configuration!!!
Kinda funny ya mention about the handout thing Sherm.
Around here I know alot of guys that dropped their fords, and are going with dodge in particular, cause the price of them is cheap as cheap can be right now, and they can get a truck for a good fraction less then a Ford. Dodge will do anything to get your business, including high trade ins.
I asked a few guys about it, and all they said was the truck will last a few years for sure, and for the price they paid for the truck, they can afford to have it wrecked in less then 5 years. They know the quality isnt as good, but the price is (or so they say)
(my sister does accounting for a dodge dealership, even though shes a ford gal, and she gets lots of inside info!)
I havent actually heard of anyone buying a ford yet, strictly because they didnt get gov't help, thats a new one for me!
I saw on one web site, quite a few dodge and gm guys saying there next truck will be a ford. They said that they will not by a vehicle from "Goverment Motors".
