My buddy has a 99 Ranger that he is parting out. I was wandering if the stock front seats in it would fit in my 88 Bronco 2 without any mods? If not what would all need to be done? If anyone can tell me or give me a link that would explain it all I would appreciate it. Thanks.
There is a possibility that the 99 seat assembly (with sliding rails and floor mounts)will fit your B2 floor contour and bolt hole pattern. So you could try it and see. But if his seat track won't bolt to your floor, unbolt the bottom part of your seat and his seat from their respective rail and floor mounts and swap his seat onto your rails so it will bolt to your floor. A lot of them swap over that way if the rails won't fit the floor.
My only thoughts on re-use of your 'old' rails is to make sure they aren't worn out and work properly. If you don't plan on using the back seats anymore, you can always fabricate some hard mounts for your new seats, too. Most Ford seats (bucket, 60/40 split) in Rangers will cross over, as well as compact car (Escorts, I think Focus?) and Mustang seats will cross over re-using your existing mounts or with some modifications, if I'm not entirely mistaken.
What do you mean if I'm not planning on using my back seat I can fab up some hard mounts? I just want something that looks and feels nicer than what is in there without having to do alot of work to make it work.
