'87 seat in an '88

This might be a silly question, but does anyone have any insight as to whether or not '87 f250 2wd seats will fit in a '88 250 xlt 4wd without too much headache? Will i need to snag all of the mounting hardware from the '87 and retro fit it into the '88 or should it all go in smoothly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Is it a bucket or bench seat. If it is a bench seat it should bolt right in but buckets will take some mods if it cam out of a super cab and going into a reg or crew cab. Anything 87-96 seat should fit I think if it is reg or crew cab (if bucket). Supercab buckets require mods (and personally after doing I will never do it again).

As far as I know since both are extended cabs drill a few holes and bolt it down in there. You are lucky I took some out of an extended cab and put them in a reg cab it was a pain. Try using the search there are tons of people who have done this and probably a write up out there.

Cool, thanks for the info. The seats in my newly acquired '88 are a wreck and i found a complete set in good condition at a wrecking yard for $200. Do you think that is reasonable or should i be offering less?

Thanks Trav.

$200 to me might be a good price I don't know we only paid $15 for ours and they are in great shape but then again I knew the junkyard owner. Try seeing what the least they will take.

I picked them up yesterday. I paid 175 for the front/rear seats, a billet grill, headlight switch and passenger wing window assembly. I think I got a pretty good deal.

Sounds like a deal to me. nice get a way with the billet grille I always liked the look of billets on 87-91 bricknose fords Wanted to do one on my 88 F150 before but changed my mind of keeping the stock black grille got two other bricknoses though that I could do it to.
